ABOUT ME

Hello. My name is Laura King (formerly Jennings) and I am a HCPC registered Specialist Physiotherapist. I have over 28 years experience working in a wide variety of NHS and Private settings across London, Leeds, Huddersfield and Halifax. I am very much a 'hands on' Physiotherapist and my expertise lies in spinal and joint mobilisations, soft tissue release and deep tissue massage, trigger point/ acupressure, lymphatic drainage massage (MLD), gait re-education and exercise prescription. I am also very experienced in treating sports injuries and have been the Physiotherapist for Brighouse open all ages Football Club and am currently the Physiotherapist and sponsor of Florence Inett, a local Pro boxing champion.

My professional experience includes being Clinical Lead & Physiotherapy Professional Lead for Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust, Allied Health Professional (AHP) Clinical Services Manager for the Huddersfield Hospital (Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal) and the U.K Society for Acute Medicine (SAM) Physiotherapy Council Representative. In 2019 I decided to expand my skills and also trained in Aromatherapy Massage, Usui Reiki and Angel Reiki. My Reiki treatments are also very popular combined with Aromatherapy Massage and I also perform Angel Oracle card readings as part of the Angel Reiki treatment.

All my Physiotherapy and Holistic treatments can be combined in any format you wish, in order to provide you with the best outcome possible

Tree of Life Therapies was founded in January 2022. The Tree of Life is a timeless symbol of our connection to everything around us, and a powerful reminder that our own happiness and health are inextricably intertwined with the happiness and health of all living things.

I am extremely fortunate to have had 42 all 5 star reviews on Google from my lovely clients. My hands on Physiotherapy techniques have led clients to become pain free, sometimes for the first time in years. My Reiki treatments have produced some profound spiritual experiences/ spiritual awakenings as well as deep healing spiritually, mentally and physically. Some of my clients have been inspired to study Reiki themselves or follow their dreams into a complete change of career path.

In this stressful, busy world, Aromatherapy Massage is the ultimate treatment for self care. It provides you with rest, peace and rejuvenation as well as unwinding tight muscles, soothing pain and flushing out toxins. Being a Physiotherapist for 28 years also means I am extremely skilled in performing sports (deep tissue) massages and manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) massage.

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy Assessment

This 1 hour 10 minute session includes a comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis, advice, and a brief treatment. Additionally, you will have personal access to my Exercise App and a bespoke exercise program. For those interested, I also offer aromatherapy massage, physiotherapy, and reiki treatments to enhance your overall well-being.

Physiotherapy Treatment

£40

This 60-minute physiotherapy follow-up treatment session is designed for clients who have already undergone an assessment. If you have multiple unrelated body areas or issues that require attention, you will need to book an extended physiotherapy treatment session. Additionally, consider incorporating aromatherapy massage or reiki treatments for a holistic approach to your wellness.

Physiotherapy Treatment (EXTENDED)

£50

1 Hour 15 minutes. For clients who have already had an initial physiotherapy assessment and need treatment of more than one (non-related) body area or issue. This session is also suitable for existing clients who want a new assessment of a different body area or issue than their original physiotherapy assessment, which may include options like aromatherapy massage or reiki treatments.

Back, Neck and Arm Massage

£40

Experience a 55-minute luxurious, relaxing aromatherapy massage that soothes sore muscles and alleviates tension, leaving you feeling wonderful and refreshed. You can choose between a deep tissue massage or a more calming, peace-inducing massage. All aromatherapy oils used are organic, and I also provide oils and creams for clients with allergies or skin sensitivities. Additionally, I offer reiki treatments and physiotherapy options to enhance your overall well-being.

Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage with Physiotherapy spinal mobilisations

In just 65 minutes, experience expert deep tissue massage techniques alongside specialist physiotherapy spinal mobilisations to loosen stiff joints and relax constricted neck, thoracic (mid-back), and paraspinal lower back muscles. This treatment can also complement aromatherapy massage and reiki treatments for enhanced relaxation. Please note, this treatment is not suitable for anyone with osteoporosis, spinal fractures, or complications.

Full Body Massage

Experience a 1 hour 20 minute complete full body massage that combines the soothing effects of an aromatherapy massage, leaving you walking on air. You'll feel rejuvenated and like a new you! This relaxing massage uses organic aromatherapy oils, and hypoallergenic options are also available. Enhance your wellness journey further with our physiotherapy and reiki treatments for a truly holistic experience.

Full body Deep Tissue (Sports) Massage

£60

1 hour 30 minutes. Whether you are preparing for a sporting event or need to recover from one, a full body, deep tissue massage combined with aromatherapy massage is the ultimate reward for your body. Feel any knots and tension melt away as you restore your body to its ultimate fitness level. Additionally, consider incorporating reiki treatments or physiotherapy for enhanced recovery. 1 hour 25 minutes.

Head, Back and Neck Massage

£48

A very popular treatment that combines acupressure and massage of the spine and scalp, often enhanced by aromatherapy massage techniques. This promotes deep relaxation, relief from upper body tension, and is also very effective in treating TMJ problems, migraines, and headaches. Many people find that incorporating reiki treatments alongside physiotherapy can further enhance the benefits of this session. Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage (MLD)

Relieves swelling of any limbs or abdomen by coaxing lymph fluid from your tissues back to your functioning lymph nodes, effectively disposing of any waste products in the process. This treatment, which can complement aromatherapy massage or physiotherapy, is effective for any chronic swelling and is also beneficial after cosmetic procedures to ensure the best possible outcome from your surgery. Prices start from £40; however, a course of treatments can be booked for a 5% discount, including options like reiki treatments for holistic wellness.
